Detection Method for All Types of Traffic Conflicts in Work Zones

چکیده
Traffic conflict technology (TCT) is widely used to assess the safety of work zones. The current TCT temporal and (or) spatial proximity defined based, which can only detect two-vehicle or multi-vehicle conflicts, not competent for single-vehicle conflicts. However, accidents in zones are also severe. This study proposes a detection method all types traffic conflicts Based on vehicle micro-behavior data, evasive behavior detected by automatic segmentation, Support Vector Machine (SVM)-based identification, threshold-based judgment methods. Two-vehicle classical defined-based method, i.e., surrogate assessment model (SSAM). By comparing analysis results with one SSAM, be detected. Taking practical zone as an example, effectiveness this detecting verified. subdivided into 10 according basic types, such straight-line driving decelerating. two three rear-end conflict. example verifies applicability under different volume scenarios.
